Grayson Perry turns his inimitable hand to a new silkscreen print launched in support of the Foundling Museum.

The Changeling is a vivid artwork that portrays changeling folklore when a child is swapped by malevolent spirits – reinterpreted by the artist for the digital age. Grayson Perry describes the artwork as intentionally “quite disturbing”, reflecting on how digital culture and AI are callously shaping our sense of self. His newly imagined changeling challenges us to rethink identity, belonging, and what truly makes us human. It sits in contrast to the stories and lives of foundlings, children ‘found’ and cared for by supportive communities.

This 9-colour silkscreen print was carefully produced at our London studio, Make-Ready, in close collaboration with the artist to capture the vivid detail of his world-renowned drawing style, exemplified in this new design.

For each artwork sold, a minimum of €195 will be donated to the Foundling Museum. The total donation made to the charity will depend on the final number of artworks sold in the edition

Grayson Perry
Grayson Perry3 collaborationsGrayson Perry is a great chronicler of contemporary life, drawing us in with wit, affecting sentiment and nostalgia as well as, at times, fear and anger. In his work, Perry tackles subjects that are universally human: identity, gender, social status, sexuality, religion. Autobiographical references – to the artist’s childhood, his family and his transvestism – can be read in tandem with questions about décor and decorum, class and taste, and the status of the artist versus that of the artisan. Perry uses the seductive qualities of ceramics and other art forms to make stealthy comments about society, its pleasures as well as its injustices and flaws, and to explore a variety of historical and contemporary themes. He works with traditional media such as ceramics, cast iron, bronze, printmaking and tapestry, and is interested in how each historic category of object accrues intellectual and emotional baggage over time.
