Jen Stark5 collaborationsLos Angeles-based artist Jen Stark creates unmissable optical illusions that leave your senses spinning. Part meditation, part acid trip, her in-your-face abstraction is designed for all audiences spanning the art world and popular culture. She’s done collaborations with the likes of Vans, Facebook and Google, and in 2015 her work even provided the backdrop to Miley Cyrus' performance at the MTV VMAs. Jen works across painting, installation, sculpture and animation, inspired by Op Artists like Bridget Riley and Marina Apollonio, as well as the Finish Fetish artists of 1960s Los Angeles. Altered states of consciousness and spirituality are key conceptual forces and sources of inspiration in Jen's artworks, stating: "For thousands of years our ancestors cultivated this amazing culture and psychedelic ceremonies and I think our culture (especially the west) has lost hold of these beautiful secrets and a deep connection to nature."
